Catch Pokédex on iOS

In case you missed it, a Pokédex app is now available for all iOS devices which features over 640 Pokémon and every bit of data about them with a little catch; other regions cost more money via in-app purchases.

Once you’ve bought the app for £1.49, you have access to all Pokémon from the Unova Pokédex which is the 494–647 range, if you wish to learn about more Pokémon from other regions, you will have to pay £3.99 per region. This can work out quite costly as you will need the following regions for completion:

  • Kanto Pokédex (National Pokédex No. 001–151)
  • Johto Pokédex (National Pokédex No. 152–251)
  • Hoenn Pokédex (National Pokédex No. 252–386)
  • Sinnoh Pokédex (National Pokédex No. 387–493)

That’s four more regions, £3.99 x 4 = £15.96, add the initial price of the app on that and you pay a total of £17.45. Is that a fair price for what is essentially an encyclopaedia of every Pokémon? You get access to every detail about each Pokémon, including location on where they can be found in Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, and Pokémon White 2.
The choice is entirely up to you and how big of a Pokémon you (or your kids) are. To get the app or just check it out, visit itunes.apple.com/gb/app/pokedex-for-ios/id573135437?mt=8 or just search for ‘Pokédex’.
