I have a new obsession. No, not Fallout 4. Yes, I’ve played it quite a bit and reached about level 32 or something, I probably racked up about 40 hours in the first week, but that’s not what my new obsession is that has been keeping me busy for the past week.
I’ve been meaning to record more videos for YouTube for about 2 or 3 weeks now, Fallout 4 ruined that. I wasn’t sure whether to record a series or stream it, so I did neither and just played it.
Then Black Friday week came along and there was a deal that was too tempting to pass up. I only bought one deal during the whole of Black Friday/Cyber Monday, well I guess you could count Fallout 4 on the PC which I got for £10 after using £9.99 worth of Reward Points, but that wasn’t the main deal.
I’ve wanted to play Euro Truck Simulator 2 for ages, in fact, I’ve owned a retail review copy since just before it originally released, but I’ve never had a PC worthy enough to run it until now. I tried playing it using a controller, but it’s just not right and although I got by on keyboard for a while, I wasn’t getting the full experience.
That was when, after searching endlessly for a good price on a Logitech G27 (and missing out on a £99 deal at PC World stores), I saw someone post a deal for a G29 at £179.99. You might think that’s ridiculous for something just to play games with, well it kind of is I suppose, but the joy it gives me when playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 is unparalleled.
The fact it’s technically for the PlayStation 3 and 4 makes it seem even more silly that someone would pay such a price, but the bonus is that it works with the PC and that’s all that matters. Since having the wheel (including pedals and I even got the gear stick since it was also on offer and for completion), I’ve hardly played anything else and for that, I’m sorry.
I’ve been obsessed with playing ETS2 with the wheel, it’s such an amazing experience and while some may find it boring, well that’s just your opinion. I’m hoping to get some new videos up throughout December with at least one video each day!
