Mental Gamers Goes Unlimited

Mental Gamers has been around since 2005 and I hope I can keep it going for many more years. Because of a hack last year, it made me lose motivation, so posts were very sporadic and even though I was sent codes and stuff to review, I just didn’t feel like it.

My old web host had become slow and because of the space and bandwidth restrictions, I was afraid to post too much in case I went over the limits. I was paying quite a lot of money for pretty basic hosting, so I wanted to find something cheaper and better.

That’s why I was looking for a new host and NeatlyWeb tweeted at me with what seemed to be the best offer for Unlimited space and bandwidth. Now of course, there are certain restrictions to the bandwidth, like with other hosts who offer it, it’s mainly traffic, which doesn’t bother me, I wasn’t going to offer downloads.

Unlimited space means I don’t have to worry too much about images. I’ll still optimise them (resize if they’re enormous and reduce file-size), so they load quicker. Just because I now have unlimited space and bandwidth doesn’t mean I’m going to be a dick by uploading at maximum size and quality.

What it does mean is more posts about the games people are playing and streaming, hopefully the motivation to review things will return and daily content will be a thing, even if it’s only one or two posts per day.

Now, while everything that’s posted here is under Mental Gamers, that is the name of my community, here is a list of my links which you can also find as my pinned Tweet:

Oh, and this is the 2800th post, so I wasn’t going to waste it on some news or other info 😉
