Bubble Bobble Brings Friends to the Switch

Older gamers should remember the classic Bubble Bobble that was so insanely popular, it originated in arcades and made it to early systems such as the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64.

Bubble Bobble didn’t really need amazing graphics or sound, it was the gameplay which made it so addictive. The jumping around on platforms, capturing things in bubbles, it was so simple, yet there was always that one mistake you made and it was game over.

It’s been over a decade since the last Bubble Bobble game and now thanks to ININ Games and Strictly Limited Games, a long awaited sequel will pop onto the scene very soon (see what I did there?!).

“Bubble Bobble is an extremely popular title in Europe, so we decided to implement a pre-sale in Europe in conjunction with ININ Games and Strictly Limited Games. It is also the first internally developed title since Taito has re-entered the consumer market, and the development team is thrilled to be working on this famous IP. I deeply hope that many people will enjoy it”

says Hiroshi Uemura, Executive Officer, Division Manager of Development, TAITO CORPORATION.

The deal this time is that not only can you team up with one friend for classic co-op action, the “4 Friends” in the title means just that. Up to four players can join together for even more epic co-operative gaming.

Strictly Limited Games are bringing the game to retail in physical form where a collector’s edition will be available, where as ININ Games are dealing with the eShop digital side of things.

You can expect to find Bubble Bobble 4 Friends on sale in Europe on November 19th and in the USA a little later in Q1 of 2020. For now, check out the trailer and see you later, Bub!
