Rumours of the Wii 2 appear to be true, what isn’t known yet are the specifications and all we have to speculate about at the moment is that it will be high-definition, so we can only hope that the graphics won’t be GameCube 1.5 standard.
So, how do we know that it will be featured at the E³ Expo 2011? A PDF file has been linked to from the Japanese Nintendo website that basically confirms that the next console will launch in 2012, with a playable model and specs to be revealed at the expo.
To whom it may concern:
Re: Wii’s successor system
Nintendo Co., Ltd has decided to launch in 2012 a system to succeed Wii, which the company has sold 86.01 million units on a consolidated shipment basis between its launch in 2006 and the end of March 2011.
We will show a playable model of the new system and announce more specifications at the E3 Expo, which will be held June 7-9, 2011, in Los Angeles.
Sales of this new system have not been included in the financial forecasts announced today for the fiscal term ending March 2012.
That was what was contained in the PDF (if you haven’t already read it for yourself), so is this good news and if so, what specifications would you like the Wii 2 to have?
