EA At Gamescom

What can you expect to see from EA at Gamescom this year then..? Surprisingly, not that much. They’re still plugging The Sims Social on Facebook like it’s the next Sims Online or something, but the main highlights look to be FIFA 12, Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect 3. Jens Uwe Intat, Senior Vice President of EA European Publishing, said, “The old model of making games every few years to coincide with new hardware launches is gone. We have a very powerful set of games for today’s consoles, and now we offer that IP to players as year-round entertainment across all of their devices and platforms. We’re looking forward to our fans’ response when they get hands-on with our line-up at the show – we think they’ll like what they see”.

The Sims 3 Stuffs Some Town Life In

You’ve got Generations, the expansion that came out of nowhere and would have been better as a Stuff Pack, then Pets was announced which is something every Sims 3 gamer has been yearning for pretty much since The Sims 3 was released, so what’s next… another Stuff Pack. The only reason I have all the Stuff Packs so far is due to getting them at reduced prices, normally I wouldn’t bother since they don’t really add that much to the game, but the Town Life Stuff Pack actually adds stuff to your neighbourhood, as well as for your Sims and their home.

#E3: The Sims Go Social on Facebook

Before I paste the info about this, I’d just like to say it’s rather hypocritical that EA closed The Sims Online/EA Land and tell us nobody wanted it, then not long after, tell us that Sims gamers are social and want a community, pissed a lot of people off.. anyway. Play with friends, play with life, play with The Sims on Facebook! The EA Play Label of Electronic Arts announced The Sims Social, a groundbreaking new game that brings one of the world’s most popular gaming franchises to Facebook, the world’s largest social network.

#E3: Mass Effect 3 Takes Off March 9, 2012

Not everyone will survive. Leading video game developer BioWare, a division of Electronic Arts Inc., announced that the epic action RPG, Mass Effect 3, will arrive at retailers March 9, 2012. In Mass Effect 3, an ancient alien race known only as “Reapers”, has launched an all-out invasion of the galaxy, leaving nothing but a trail of destruction in their wake. Earth has been taken, the galaxy is on the verge of total annihilation, and you are the only one who can stop them.

#E3: Battlefield 3 Gets Its Papers

The fight is on! DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio,  announced that Battlefield 3, the next installment in the internationally acclaimed Battlefield series, will be available on October 28th in the UK. After three years of development, the spectacular new game leaps ahead of the competition thanks to the unique power of the Frostbite 2 game engine. The technology advances the state of the art, and serves as the power center that allows Battlefield 3 to deliver superior performance in character animation, visual rendering, audio/sound and physical destruction.
