The Xmas 2022 Gaming Chart is rather interesting and shows just which system was a popular gift this year.
It’s not particularly the publisher that’s dominating the chart, although there are five out of the ten by just a single one.
The games tell the story of which console has been gifted more than the others since eight of them are available on it, and five of them exclusively.
So, the Xmas 2022 Gaming Chart…
- FIFA 23
- CoD: Modern Warfare II
- God of War Ragnorak
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Pokémon Violet
- Nintendo Switch Sports
- Sonic Frontiers
- Pokémon Scarlet
- Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
- Minecraft
As you can see, only two games out of that list aren’t available on the Nintendo Switch, although there are rumours that Modern Warfare II could appear on the platform.
Minecraft is the Nintendo Switch version indicated by the original listing, with at least another five in positions eleven to twenty of the chart.
So it seems quite clear that the Switch was the most gifted console for 2022 and that could be due to a couple of reasons. Older Switch’s being available pre-owned that people have picked up or maybe even the Switch Lite, and the new OLED version being a popular choice for those who can afford that bit extra.
It’s also possible that the reason the Switch was a more popular choice could be down to the price hike of the PlayStation 5 which people are still trying to get their hands on because of its still apparent lack of availability and especially outside of bundles.
And there is the Xmas 2022 gaming chart as of December 24, dominated by Nintendo with a big selection throughout the top 40, but FIFA 23 was going to take the top spot after the World Cup taking place in November and being available on all formats.
