Paik Seung-ho signs for Blues! There were posts around the footballing circle that Birmingham City were interested in signing the South Korean, now it’s a reality.
He joins on a free transfer from Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and is apparently worth around €900k (approx £768k) according to TransferMarkt which may not sound like much, but his value could go up even by the end of the current season.
Paik Seung-ho definitely sounds a very interesting prospect with experience in Europe, as well as scoring a screamer of a goal against Brazil during the World Cup in Qatar for South Korea.
The 26 year-old has played 15 times internationally and 82 appearances for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors where he scored nine goals.
In his recent interview, he had a few things to say about BCFC
“I am really, really happy to be part of this club and this team. I am really excited. I can’t wait to start.
“Since I was young and I started to watch football, one of my dreams was to come to England and play football. When I heard Birmingham was interested in me, I was really happy.
“I have known the Club since I was a young kid. So, after meeting the Manager and directors, I decided to come here.”
Football Insider mention that Mowbray tried to sign Paik Seung-ho while at Sunderland as he admires the player, but was unsuccessful in doing so.
While Paik Seung-ho has been training with the team, he’s still going through international clearance which could see him in the squad for the away game at Sheffield Wednesday on February 9th.
