Alex Pritchard Signing for Birmingham

Alex Pritchard signing for Birmingham has been going around lately and it seems today is the day he will officially sign the deal.

Although not officially announced yet, Sky Sports say he’s on his way to St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park to put pen to paper and sign the two and a half year deal after undergoing a medical this afternoon.

Alex Pritchard wanted to stay at Sunderland with a year extension into 2026, but was only offered an 18-month deal and for that reason, he announced he was no longer available.

With just six months left of his contract at Sunderland, they didn’t agree on an extension of only a year into 2025, Pritchard felt that he deserved longer and so decided he would rejoin Mowbray at Birmingham City on the agreed terms.

The 30 year-old jumped at the chance due to expressing his desire to leave Sunderland and Mowbray is happy with that decision.

“What I do know is Alex Pritchard is a player with personality and character, wonderful ball manipulation and great dead ball skills.”

Keep an eye on BCFC’s socials for an official announcement later this afternoon.

[Update] It’s now official –
