The first and exclusive downloadable content for Fallout New Vegas is now available on an Xbox Live Marketplace near you for the slightly overpriced cost of 800 MS Points. Why overpriced? You’re getting just under 250 MB worth of content that opens up a little bit more area where you and three other wastelanders have to fight to survive against some new enemies and stuff like that, but is it really worth 800 instead of say, 560 Points?
“We’re pleased to give fans a chance to expand their experience in Fallout: New Vegas this December with Dead Money,” said Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing for Bethesda Softworks. “The release of Dead Money illustrates our commitment to creating entertaining add-on content for players to enjoy in already massive games like Fallout: New Vegas.”
That’s nice, but look at the Fallout 3 DLC/expansions, they were pretty epic and even opened up whole new levels, not just a piddly bit with a few extra characters and buildings. The dilemma is, do I buy the DLC now and join the rest of the early birds or wait a while for a possible reduction? It’s unlikely that it will be on offer any time soon and as it raises the level cap to 35, the temptation to take part in a casino heist with this new quest is nagging like a toothache, it’s just the small filesize that makes you wonder if it’s really worth it… is it?
